Very aromatic, black pepper, fragrant wood, menthol and fresh horseradish
Taste:

Predominantly peppery and spicy. Cloves and nutmeg. That horseradish thing is back, it gets right up the back of your sinuses. Predominantly sweet but ends with a sour tang.
Finish:

Long and spicy
Comment:
Got this as a tester for Rye whisky. I'd definitely say it was interesting, but not sure I'll be coming back to it. The nose is very interesting in particular. Mixed feelings on this one.

Taste:

Finish:

Comment: Quite a long time in the glass before the rye makes its way to the fore on the nose. A great deal of sugar sweetness dominates out of the bottle, with the requisite oak spice intertwined.
As a whiskey, Woodford Reserve Rye is enjoyable. Strictly as a rye whiskey, however, it lacks the complex bite that distinguishes the style.
