According to Jimmy Russell, this was discontinued in the early 90s (10 year old age statement, 101 proof). A rather enjoyable Bourbon.
An expectedly oak-driven nose with rich vanilla extract and caramel, but also floral, rye-like top-notes and an unapologetic corn note.
On the palate, it is almost more enjoyable undiluted as a restrained sweetness and rich smoothness prevails. Water (10-15%) brings out more oak tannins and an expected graphite note, making it a much drier dram.
Not a remarkable finish, but a high quality Bourbon regardless. Apparently a collectible item (if you don't have local liquor stores with extensive old, elusive inventories).
