Westward Stout Cask

The Westward distillery is located in the main cultivation area for barley in Portland, Oregon. Therefore it is convenient to use the local malted barley in the production of Whiskey. Westward, one of the few American Single Malts is produced under strict criteria, which are very similar to those of Scotch. After a two-time distillation in pot stills, the Malt matured for at least three years in fresh American white oak casks. For this edition, the Single Malt finished for another year in Stout casks, which were freshly bought from breweries in Oregon.
