Quite tight on the nose. Vanilla and honey sweetness, basic malt nose. There's some fruitiness in there once it sits for a while.
Taste:

Balanced arrival, quite savoury, lots of barley maltiness. A little spiciness builds up. Some sappy wood notes.
Finish:

Medium to long. Oak, malt and pepper.
Comment:
This is what I would characterize as a reasonably basic 12 year old malt whisky. It has the character of a first fill bourbon maturation, but without the over the top vanilla and sweetness that usually brings. The nose, is really tight and hard to get a read on. The palate is a lot more forceful, but isn't overly complex. The finish has a good length to it. Is it bad? no. But I wouldn't go out of my way to get more of it.
75/100
