Nosing: 
The nose is smoke dominated. Peaty, but not overly medicinal combined with the sherry fruitiness has an almost smoked ham type smell to it.
Taste: 
Sweet arrival. Immediately peat, slightly more iodene than the nose. The sherry cask noticably pushes back at it with dried fruit flavours and nuttiness, but never gets close to overcoming the smokiness. Viscous and mouth coating.
Finish:
Very long. Peaty with residual nuttiness. If you leave it long enough you get that same aftertaste that you get with smoked hams. Finishes quite dry.
Comment:
I had the regular version of smokehead recently and it really impressed for a NAS peated release. This too has a lot going for it. It isn't the cheapest, but then, the price I think is justified here, It's a raw and visceral type of experience presented at high strength (which is much appreciated). If I had to guess, it is probably quite young, maybe 6yrs, but it doesn't come across as overly youthful as it plays into that big flavour archetype. Good stuff.
