Raasay Single Malt

This is the first Raasay within the core range of the Island distillery. Raasay is located on the eponymous small island between the Isle of Skye and the Scottish mainland. Peated and unpeated new makes matured in three different types of casks and were then married together for this Single Malt. It then matures at the coast of the tiny Scottish Island in Ex-Rye Whiskey, fresh Chinquapin wood and Bordeaux Red Wine casks. The special bottle design shows the origin of the island Malt: With the uneven surface, it portrays the wild beauty of the island landscape.

Nosing: At first sniff there is dominant white wine nose (light, fresh) , under it is some specific dental clinic Peat Smoke (can not explain it in other way) later there are dominant bitter Herbs , Oak

Taste: Creamy, fresh arrival, Peat Smoke is at right level for me, Fruit , Sweet , Chili , bitter some Alcohol burn

Finish: Ginger start followed by warm Chocolate , then there comes some off note like chlorine with Pineapple
