Taste: peat, leather, salt, slight honey sweetness and strong vegetal grassiness. I also get the weird metallic taste, but cannot identify it, and it seems to fade quickly. Later tastes of fruity sweetness, almost a citrus sweetness without the zest of citrus.... Also the maritime saltiness and fresh ocean is on the tongue. Strange, but very nice. I would never have guessed this was 50% abv, as it seems much more mild in alcohol (I assume due to the aggressive tastes)

Finish: Long finish, character changes for me in fantastic fashion. First tastes of peat and leather diminish to a sweet vegetal tone that, for me, is like a highland malt, but with much more intense vegetal tastes.
Comment: I am admittedly a sucker for Islay peat, so this is no surprise that I am impressed by this dram. I like my laphroaig better, but will admit that this has a complexity that impresses. if you like the peaty whisky, get this now! I cannot wait to find a bottle of Islay Barley to compare.
