Nosing: Sherry Vanilla Honey Date

Cinnamon makes a subtle appearance with the addition of water to this high-proof dram.

Taste: Sherry Oak and a faint Fruit element that tends toward Pear but certainly not so far as Apple

A bit more Sweet and Berries are evident with the addition of water.

Finish: Sherry Coffee

The presence of not-unpleasant bitterness - interpreted as Coffee - is reduced with water. But this bitter aftertaste can still be clearly detected after dilution when the whisky is paired with a sweet food accompaniment.

Comment: Sherry influence is present at every stage while enjoying The Macallan Classic Cut. However, at no point is it overwhelming, or even exceptionally dominant.
