All tasting notes
14. Dec 2019
Nosing: black olive
Taste: a very mild menthol
Finish:
Comment: Wonderfully complex, and a touch of water - while not necessary - amplifies this whisky's presentation immediately. Fruit and sweetness offers a subdued influence on the nose. Then, spice and sea influences provide depth, all following the lead of the obvious peat dominance.
Peat remains the primary influence through taste and finish both. But citrus and berries emerge as complements versus maritime and spice on the nose. A slight bitter note, detected as coffee (and true to Tobermory's distillery character), brings this fabulous dram's finish to a close.
