First-fill Maker Mark Barrels had been interested in trying a Cask Strength version of the popular Laphroaig Quater Cask for years. 5 year olds and older were used for the first ripening before maturing for the second time in smaller quarter barrels (125 l) for a further 6 months. The whiskey was bottled at cask strength of 57.2%.
