The most popular Irish whiskey in the world is a mass-produced, cheap and undemanding spirit that can be used for mixing purposes or sipped neat. On the nose, Jameson is rather featureless and lacking substance with an occasional alcoholic bite. Intense candy sweetness masks the floral and grassy notes lingering in the background. A fresh and clean arrival is followed by sweet barley sugar, gingery spiciness and dry citrus fruits. The finish is short, simple and fades with a touch of black tea bitterness. A sound Irish blend that is easy to drink over a conversation.

Comment: I am rating it as a separate category for blends. I like all irish blends, cause they are smooth, nice and easy. Jameson is one of them but has very spicy pepper finish.

Comment: Absolute lack of complexity. A primitive assortment of aromas and tasting notes. This whisky is boring like all of those Chivas and Famous Grouse stuff. However, for a newbie to a whisky world, Jameson is a good choice to start.

Finish: Very short.

Comment: Typical irish blend. The taste is way better than the nose. The nose can be a little harsh, but the taste is very smooth and sweet.

First nosing comes brings a lot of sweetness, butterscotch and alkohol.
Couple drops of water brings sweet milk chocolate and something like chocolate cake. Couple of sips fuether and something like sherry finish appeared.

Taste: SweetCaramelChocolateCakeOil
First thoughts - shortbread and butterscotch. Sweet, caramelly, milk chocolate notes. Peppery, oily and oaky.
With time it becomes mode like chocolate with chilli.

Finish:
Rather short, sweet, peppery with a little of oak. Rather smooth.

Comment:
First contact with this whisky was a bit unpleasant, because of alkohol presence on the aroma and taste. Time and air make this whisky rounder and much more sippable.
