Initial impressions:

Pale gold (copper reflexes) and general aroma make it hard to distinguish whether this was a Bourbon cask or a re-fill Sherry cask. It seems to be American oak, though, due to the richly sweet aroma and little palate contribution.

Intense, focused, perfumey nose - interestingly quite similar to "Imperial" of similar age. Lemon preserves and candied pineapple lay the aromatic foundation for the ethereal smoke, which comes and fades with qualities of incense, cloves, and petrol (TDN). The similarity to an aged Riesling wine is quite uncanny. Inversely, the nose is analogous to "Sauternes finish" Malts.
Any oak contribution is well integrated, with light caramel and more noticeable coconut.

Beautifully clean, measured grainy, oily sweetness across the entire palate, echoing on those fruit and jam notes and the rich, fudge-laden coconut. Hardly any tannin. Linear, lively alcohol at perfect natural strength, giving zest and spice.

Incredibly long, curried finish.
