This Glenfiddich first matured in sherry and bourbon barrels for 18 years. Master Distiller Brian Kinsman then selected 150 barrels. Divided into small batches, the malt matured for a further 3 months in wooden mixing vessels.

Comment: Real good stuff! There's a lot going on here, very well balanced. The baked apple notes combine with the spices and the balance of casks, all comes together to create something i honestly wasn't ready for! I found myself "chewing" this whisky too, not something i do unless a whisky has a lot of heft and character to it's body.
