A complex harmony of fresh fruits and spices. Initial spicy oak notes follow vibrant vanilla and rich dried fruit.

Nosing: Oak Cinnamon Nutmeg Date
Light to medium intensity. Oak driven. Light spices, cinnamon and nutmeg. Dark brown sugar, some neutral dried fruit like date or fig.

Taste: Fruit Pepper
Light intensity arrival. Lacks the richness that the nose promises. Initially sweet, with some fruitiness, pepper heat comes forward over time and the flavour thins out.

Finish: Oak Ginger
Short, quite thin, and mostly oaky. A bit disappointing. Some ginger. Drying.

Comment:
I'm pretty sure I haven't had this one before. It's an interesting spin on the standard release Glenfiddich releases I've had before. The nose is actually pretty ok. On the palate it starts to go down hill though. It lacks the intensity it needs, and it gets thin and watery in a hurry. The less said about the finish the better. I'd say it would have been better at higher ABV, but I reckon that oak would have gotten out of control in a hurry.
