Glenfarclas 21 Years
This exceptional single malt is among the cheapest of all 21-year-old malt whiskeys. It contains more smoke than other Glenfarclas. But in comparison only a subtle touch. The sherry taste takes a back seat in favor of oak, vanilla and fruits.

Full bodied rich and rounded develops slowly into fruity, smoky and spicy flavours.
Finish:
Long-lasting, smooth a smoky with a chocolate feel at the back of your throat.
RATING: 4.0/5.0 ≙ 88 pts

Up front fruitiness, oranges and apples. Well integrated sherry. Some vanilla and a definite menthol note.
Taste:

Full balanced arrival. Intense dried fruit and sherry, sweet and sour. More of that background sherry.
Finish:

Medium to long with malty oak.
Comment:
I'm conflicted on this one. It has a really nice nose, but I think it sort of lets itself down a bit. Its not overly interesting on the palate or finish, though what it does it does well. I think that considering the price I would probably say I'd be more likely to pick the 15 year old over this. A bit of an anomaly because I normally don't have a bad word to say about Glenfarclas.

Finish:

Comment: very rich all the way through. this is my first "old" whiskey and i wasn't expecting it to be so sweet, but it maintains the sweetness while also adding layers through it's age. The nuttiness you often find in other sherry cask scothes is much lighter, but still present, so that's why I went with hazelnut.
