Nosing: Sweet, sherry, honey, apples, oranges, slight taste of almonds, vanilla, carmel. This is certainly a sugar bomb. No smokiness, very gentle sugary nose. Sweet Sherry Honey Orange Almonds Vanilla Caramel

Taste: Syrup, sugary overload, sherry, vanilla and oak, fruit smells that were so prevalent seem to be muted by the sugar. I cannot pick out much more than the sherry, vanilla and oak on the palate, but it is well done, not overpowering. This tastes like my dentist will appreciate me drinking it, almost as sweet as a soft drink but not with chemical sweetness... Nice taste for a sweet tooth, and I bet it would be sublime with a tart dessert, or citrone ice cream.

Finish:Medium length, quickly fades into gentle warmth with sherry sweetness and vanilla notes lingering. A gentle finish that is quite pleasant.

Comment: I have put off reviewing this bottle almost to the end, because I was never very impressed by it. I still think that for the cost one can buy a better scotch, and I will not be shelling out the money to try the 15 year as this just downed do it for me personally. With that said.... It is probably one of the gentlest high quality drams I have had. It is not a bad drink, and would be useful for introducing those new to whisky to sherry finishing. With that said, Glendronauch and glenfarclas are too close in price for this to be a mainstay for me.
