Auchentoshan 11 Years - 1999 Bordeaux Cask
The french oak gives this Auchentoshan malt a typical oaky flavour. The 58% ABV also result in quite a kick. It all gets rounded off with the sweet and fruity distillery character from Auchentoshan.

Nosing: Top - Mid - Toffee Base -

Comment: Deep rosewood colour, thin and slow legs, looks the part as expected from a Single Cask, Cask Strength Whisky. Nose - top notes of vanilla, banana and a hint of citrus fruits, Mid tone is chocolate and butter toffee, Base is a definite coffee. Taste - vanilla, oak, chocolate and spices which linger into the Finish with a spicy note, lingering dark chocolate and long lasting warmth. Definitely a wonderful dram, possibly one of the best I have ever tasted, a sipping drink to be savoured - 9.75 out of 10!
