Arran Quarter Cask Quarter Cask - The Bothy
In the whisky trade of the 18th and 19th centuries used smaller barrels than usual today, as they were easier to handle for transport. The Bothy recalls this time. Since autumn 2019 it belongs to the Arran core assortment. The single malt matures for seven years in former bourbon barrels and then gets a finish in 125 liters of oak barrels for another two years. The maturation in the smaller barrels increases the contact between whiskey and oak, which makes the strong-catching The Bothy particularly aromatic and full-bodied.
