Nosing: Strawberry Cherry Zitrus
Light and fresh, red fruit. Strawberry, cherries and something citric, not quite pineapple.

Taste: Cherry Chocolate Grapefruit
Sweet arrival. Up front, bright fruit, cherries and milk chocolate, progresses towards pink grapefruit as sourness comes forward.

Finish: Coffee Oak
Medium to long, drying. Oak tang, and coffee aftertaste.

Comment:
I picked this up as I've been exploring different versions of Arran recently. This one is definitely something quite different from their regular releases, but not necessarily in a bad way. The cask influence here is very noticable, the sweet and sour nature of this is going to make it something which will appeal more towards experienced whisky drinkers, and might put off those who aren't in to that sort of thing. The bottling strength is to be applauded, but it definitely needs a good teaspoon of water to calm it down for it to show at its best.
