Tasting notes of TheGreatMothra:

02. May 2016
Nosing:
There's an initial hit of peat smoke (not overly antiseptic) with lemon juice, vanilla and black pepper developing after you let it sit for a few minutes. There's a seaweed/maritime savoury note also.
Taste:
Sweet, peaty arrival with vanilla sweetness and black pepper. The peat is medium strength and not as overpowering as a lot of the more popular Islay offerings.
Finish:
Medium/long with lingering smoke and black pepper/spice.
Comment:
Worth adding a few drops of water, but won't take too much.
Compared to a lot of peated Islay malts this is much more up my street. The peat is restrained but still very much at the forefront and doesn't overpower the other aspects of the flavour. It might be a little sweet for my tastes, but well worth trying at the asking price.

29. Mar 2018
Nosing:
(but not overwhelmingly so), and a pleasantly Surprising faint
, discovered through a series of short sniffs, rather than deep inhalation.
Taste:
and a subtle, complementary
Finish:
and a sweeter
as compared to the spicier/bitter
revealed during tasting
Comment: Half- or (three-)quarter star ratings are missed in rating Ledaig 10-year. This is as close to a four-star rated whisky as I have had without quite reaching that plateau.

27. Jan 2021
Nosing:
Taste:
Finish:
spicy long linger
Comment:
First attack is quit strong from smokiness. But in few second , it changes into honey flavor with a little hint of oak. Then moving to something like plum fruits that has sour flavor like dark cherry. For palate, I like the little hint of mint that feel after first taste attack. Totally, I cannot feel 46.3 %AVB, very mild but insisting the character.
