A very popular and affordable Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Legend has it that Four Roses got its name from the founder, Paul Jones, who proposed to a Southern belle who accepted his proposal by wearing four roses on her dress at a ball.
The founder of the distillery was a pioneer in wine barrel aging. Even today Glendronach stores his malts in Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. The bottlings of the Cask Strength series are filled in different batches.
For years the 15-year-old Revival had been one of the most popular bottlings from Glendronach, but it is now discontinued because the distillery had been mothballed from 1996 until 2002. Stocks are dwindling, and prices have already gone up.
The Glendronach 21 Parliament gets its name from a colony (=parliament) of crows who've been nesting in the trees next to the distillery for 200 years. It's been matured in Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks.
This exceptional single malt is among the cheapest of all 21-year-old malt whiskeys. It contains more smoke than other Glenfarclas. But in comparison only a subtle touch. The sherry taste takes a back seat in favor of oak, vanilla and fruits.
