The White Lady was created by the Scottish emigrant MacElhone in the Harry's New York Bar in Paris during the prohibition in the USA. In those times many American bar owners and barkeepers sought out santuaries in Europe. The drink became so popular, that it is still served in bars around the world today - even in the USA.
