The Old Fashioned can be called the grandfather of all Cocktails and is one of the oldest. The Old Fashioned first appeared in the 18th century and since then many variations were created. Only one thing stayed the same: the combination of spirit, water, sugar and aromatic bitters. Before the Old Fashioned got its name, he simply was called 'Whisky Cocktail'.
