Wolfburn Vibrant Stills 2014/2021 released

Matured in first fill Bourbon barrels, finished in Ruby Port hoghsheads

As the years before, Wolfburn launched the 2021 small batch edition especially for the German market, together with distributor Alba Import. The seven-year-old Wolfburn Vibrant Stills 2014/2021 for Germany is limited to 1206 bottles.

For this special release, Distillery Manager Iain Kerr selected first fill Bourbon barrels that were filled in 2014, the second year of production at Wolfburn Distillery in Thurso on the north coast of mainland Scotland. The whisky from these barrels was then finished in Ruby Port hogsheads for six months before it was bottled at 50% ABV without colouring and chill filtration.

“Once again the Wolfburn distillate shows its excellent quality. The perfect new make is extremely receptive to the cask aromas and matures extremely quickly in the distillery's traditional dunnage warehouses. Time and again we are enthusiastic about the consistency with which Wolfburn Distillery produces and matures! Wolfburn truly corresponds to our motto Vibrant Stills. We are excited to see how Wolfburn Single Malt will develop in the future,” says Dietmar Schulz from Alba Import.
