Westland American Single Malt Whiskey

Three core range editions, different in character

The Westland Distillery, founded in January 2010 and based in Seattle, Washington, has focused on the production of single malt whiskey. Bourbon is still the number 1 category among American whiskeys, but for some time now the single malt has also been gaining more and more fans in the US.

The Westland Distillery was the founder of the American Single Malt Whiskey Commission, which campaigned for the creation of a separate category. In the meantime, 110 distilleries belong to this commission and submit their single malt whiskey according to rules similar to those required by the Scottish regulations: Only malted barley is used, the distillate must not have more than 80% vol and must come from one single distillery. The volume of the oak barrels used must not exceed 700 liters. It is manufactured and stored exclusively in the US. A three-year minimum storage time is not mandatory for American single malt whiskey.

The Westland American Single Malt Whiskey editions are all bottled at 46% vol.
