Waterford Distillery to launch first whisky in April 2020

The limited edition can be picked up at the Irish distillery at a special event

Distillery founder Mark Reynier

On April 25, 2020, the first whisky edition of the Irish Waterford Distillery will be presented. "We would like to invite you to make a pilgrimage," the distillery posted on its social media channels and links to a page of the event portal Eventbrite for more information and for ticket purchases.

There will be 1,500 numbered bottles of the 1st Cuvée: Pilgrimage, bottled at 50% ABV. 1,000 of them will have the Slogan "I Was There" on the label and must be picked up personally at the distillery on April 25, 2020. The privilege to buy one of these bottles of single malt whisky (yes, this Irish malt is written "Whisky" without an e) can already be secured at Eventbrite: For €170 you get a ticket that gives you entry to the event, included are a tasting glass, 2 drams à 25 ml and a bottle of the first edition whisky

For the Waterford 1st Cuvée: Pilgrimage, Head Distiller Ned Gahan batched whisky, which was  produced separately from the barley of 35 farms in the first year of production in 2016. The terroir, the influence of the soil the barley is grown on, has a significant influence on the whisky, as does the type of barley used, so Waterford founder Mark Reynier is convinced.

If you are not interested in buying a bottle of the Waterford 1st Cuvée: Pilgrimage, but want to attend the launch event on April 25, you can purchase 20-euro tickets through Eventbrite, which include admission, a tasting glass and 2 drams à 25 ml.

Maybe you are planning your Ireland vacation and are a little regarding the time you will go? The distillery is located in Waterford on the north east coast of Ireland.
