The Macallan in Lalique Legacy Collection auctioned for US$993.000
All proceeds donated to charity
An extraordinary collection of Macallan Whisky was auctioned by Sotheby’s last Sunday in Hong Kong: for almost one million US-dollars a successful tenderer got his hands on The Macallan in Lalique Legacy Collection.
Six noble crystal decanters, filled with old and rare Macallan Single Malt Whisky, are the core of The Macallan in Lalique Legacy Collection. The precious work was manufactured by the French company Lalique. And it was Lalique Maison, too, that designed and built the ebony cabinet in which the crystal decanters were displayed suitably. In addition to the six decanters with Macallan Single Malt Whisky the auctioned package was completed by six Macallan Fine and Rare miniatures from 1937, 1938 und 1939 and six pairs of Lalique Macallan glasses.
These are the noble whiskies

Proceeds of The Macallan in Lalique Legacy Collection donated to charity
More than 10 bidders took part in the auction personally, by phone or online as Asia Senior Director Robert Sleigh from Sotheby’s said and he added that this “demonstrates the importance with which global collectors regard The Macallan in Lalique Legacy Collection and the significance of its direct from the distillery provenance. It is fitting that it achieved a new world-record for any lot of whisky ever sold at auction.” The proud winner of the auction and new owner of The Macallan in Lalique Legacy Collection was not named. All proceeds of this spectacular auction are donated to charity organizations of Hong Kong and other Asian countries.
