Teeling Whiskey releases 30-year-old single malt

The Irish distillery unveils the latest bottling of its award-winning Vintage Reserve Collection

The Teeling Vintage Reserve Collection contains a selection of the oldest single malt Irish whiskeys ever bottled in a strictly limited edition. Now Ireland's leading progressive whiskey producer has released the latest version of its award-winning Vintage Reserve Collection: the Teeling 30-year-old Irish single malt. This expression is limited to 500 bottles and one of the oldest Irish single malts that reached the market in recent years.

The 30-year-old Teeling single malt was distilled in 1987 and matured for 25 years in ex-Bourbon casks before being refined for 5 years in ex-White Burgundy French oak casks. This unique dual maturation gives the whiskey additional fruit aromas, which complement the malt and wood notes in a harmonious way and culminate in a long-lasting finish. Each of the 500 bottles were hand bottled in specially created decanter bottles and appear together with a high-quality wooden gift box with its own certificate of authenticity.

Unique on the market

Jack Teeling, founder of Teeling Whiskey, is enthusiastic: "This extremely limited bottling of a 30-year-old Irish single malt is unique because the influence of French white wine barrels transforms this whiskey into something very special. There is nothing comparable on the market today.” The Teeling 30 years will first be available at the local distillery and at Dublin Airport, before it will be available internationally in the coming months.

Teeling Whiskey Riesling Cask

A few weeks earlier, the Irish presented a new bottling from their "Small Batch Collaborations" series: the brand new Teeling Riesling Cask. This is a special bottling of the Teeling Small Batch Whiskey, the flagship of the distillery, limited to about 3000 bottles and given an 18-month finish in former Riesling casks. These wine casks made of French oak come from the renowned Palatine winery Reichsrat von Buhl.

Fruity and mineral

The Teeling Riesling Cask is non chill-filtered and bottled at 46% abv. The nose reveals pronounced aromas of nectarine, apricot and honey, which produce a complex fruity note with a hint of ginger on the palate and culminate in a subtle finish with a dry and mineral note. The Teeling Whiskey Riesling Cask follows the Teeling Stout Cask, the first bottling of this small series from last year.
