St. Kilian launches peated Bud Spencer Single Malt Whisky

The smoky edition of the "Bud Spencer - The Legend" from Rüdenau was presented yesterday

No less than 370 whisky friends took part in an online tasting yesterday evening to welcome the new "The Bud Spender - The Legend – Rauchig". The smoky brother of the unpeated Bud Spencer - The Legend, which was released in November 2020, will be available from February 28, 2021.

It is thanks to the agency Bavaria Sonor Licensing BSL that St. Kilian can use the Bud Spencer brand as a licensee. BSL supports the rights holder Plattfuss Vertriebs GmbH in expanding the product world around Bud Spencer and Terence Hill across Europe, creating licensed products.

The Bud Spencer - The Legend whiskies are intended to appeal to a wide audience and will be constant products in St. Kilian's portfolio during the next years. They are a kind of a counterpoint to the St. Kilian Signature Editions, which as limited editions present a wide repertoire of cask maturation.

Like the unpeated Bud Spencer, the smoky one is released in batches, created from whisky that was matured in ex-Amarone and ex-bourbon casks for three years. It is bottled uncoloured and unchill-filtered at 49% ABV. It is therefore slightly stronger than the not smoky variant with ist 46% ABV.

And it will not stop at these two versions of Bud Spencer - The Legend: In the press release from St. Kilian Distillers there are reports of plans to further occupy the range between mild and smoky.
