Smokehead Sherry Bomb presented

The limited edition will be available globally from November

A limited edition of the heavily peated Smokehead Single Malt Whisky from Islay has just been launched in the UK, called Smokehead Sherry Bomb. “Nomen est omen“ and the official previews speak of powerful smoky aromas which here merge with vibrant Sherry aromas, caused by the full maturation of the whisky in Oloroso Sherry casks.

The Smokehead that is produced in an undisclosed Islay distillery was released in 2006. About half a year ago Ian Macleod Distillers presented a new design for its peated label that keeps the skull as a trademark. At the same time the Smokehead High Voltage was launched, a cask strength edition, that joins the classic Smokehead as a member of the small core range. The Smokehead Sherry Bomb has been announced to be limited to 18.000 and won’t be available very long probably.

Iain Weir, Brand Director of Smokehead, said: “The whisky is more explosive than an Armada cannonball. ‘It’s not for everyone, but if you’re after a bold, peaty whisky that’s been blasted by rich sherry casks, then this is the delicious taste explosion you’ve been waiting for.”

Smokehead Sherry Bomb has been bottled with 48% ABV and is available in the UK now. In November it will be rolled out globally.
