Richard Paterson appointed as master blender of Wolfcraig Distillery

The planned distillery near Stirling will be supported by "The Nose"

The construction of the new Wolfcraig Distillery near Stirling is not expected to be completed until summer of 2022 (a few days ago we reported here about the planned project), but the management team already announced who will join the team as a master blender: Richard Paterson, internationally known and highly regarded in the whisky business, could be won for this important position.

Richard Paterson, also known as "The Nose", is one of the most famous master blenders in the world. He has been active in the whisky scene for more than 5 decades and, as master blender in the third generation, follows a family tradition. He will continue his long cooperation with Whyte & Mackay in parallel to his work for the Wolfcraig Distillery.

“This will be an opportunity for me to use all the knowledge I have learned over 55 years in the business to create a truly exceptional Highland Single Malt, one that can be enjoyed the world over,” Richard Paterson said, and Michael Lunn of Wolfcraig, said: “We are honoured and proud to welcome Richard as Wolfcraig’s Master Blender. Together with our already formidable team his knowledge, commitment and long-term vision will help establish the Wolfcraig brand both at home and internationally.”
