Quest, Lumina, Terra and Enigma: The Quest Collection is complete

Different types of casks for different whisky characters

Macallan takes us on a journey through the world of its cask maturation: During the last year the Speyside distillery released a series of four single malts under the name Quest Collection. Quest, Lumina, Terra and Enigma were bottled without age-statement. They present the individual character of different cask maturations that form the Macallan portfolio.

Macallan Quest: Blended from whiskies from ex-bourbon casks, hogsheads and sherry seasoned American and European oak casks. It was bottled at 40% ABV.

Macallan Lumina is made from whisky matured in European and American oak, pre-filled with Sherry, and hogsheads, bottled at 41.3% ABV.

Macallan Terra: Only first fill Sherry casks were used here, especially “seasoned” for Macallan with Sherry that comes from wood suppliers Tevasa and Vasyma in Jerez de la Frontera. 43.8% ABV.

Macallan Enigma presents whisky that only was matured in seasoned first-fill Sherry butts of the Tevasa Cooperage, bottled at 44.9% ABV.
