New Michter's 20 yo presented

A new batch of the 20-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon enters the market

In recent years, the Michter's Kentucky Straight Bourbon has found more and more friends in Europe. The "Standard" Michter's Small Batch Bourbon is available regularly, although it is of course affected by the current tariffs. Different regarding the limited bottlings, for example the 10 and the 20-year-old Michter’s: only quite small quantities reach the European market.

So the now announced highlight will probably be hard to catch: A new batch of the Michter's 20 Years has been released and introduced to the market by Michter's senior distiller, Dan McKee, and Michter's aging master, Andrea Wilson. The 2019 bottling of the Michter's Kentucky Straight Bourbon 20 years is 114.2 proof (57.1% vol) and has been launched in the US for about $ 700.

"An elegant Bourbon with a lot of depth and overlapping flavors," Joseph J. Magliocco, President of Michter's, says in the latest press release. The Michter’s Website presents some tasting notes: "intense notes of black cherry, rich molasses, honeysuckle, roasted pecans, toasted charred oak”.

The strong demand for the Michter's Kentucky Straight Whiskey 20 yo is not least due to Jim Murray, who recently declared the 2018 bottling of the 20-year-old winner of the category 16-20 year old Bourbons in his Whisky Bible 2020.
