New Benromach Château Cissac Bordeaux Wood Finish 2010 introduced

The Benromach Distillery Company presents a new Wood Finish bottling within its Contrast Range

Located on the outskirts of the ancient market town of Forres, Benromach Distillery has unveiled the latest addition to its Wood Finish portfolio, the limited edition Benromach Château Cissac Bordeaux Wood Finish 2010. The single malt balances Benromach's characteristic Speyside smokiness with the rich aromas of French red wine.

Benromach Château Cissac Bordeaux Wood Finish 2010 is first matured in first-fill Bourbon barrels in the traditional dunnage warehouses of the distillery on site. The whisky is then finished for just over two years in hand-selected Château Cissac wine casks from the famous French wine region of Haut-Médoc near Bordeaux. Keith Cruickshank, Benromach Distillery Manager, said: "All our Wood Finish bottlings, including our Château Cissac Bordeaux Wood Finish 2009 which we launched last year, have been very well received by whisky lovers around the world. I am confident that Benromach Château Cissac Bordeaux Wood Finish 2010, with its unique and appealing characteristics, will also be appreciated by new and existing Benromach enthusiasts."

Limited to 7,789 bottles and bottled in 2018 at 45% abv, Benromach Château Cissac Bordeaux Wood Finish 2010 will soon be available in our Whisky.de online shop. It is dark gold in colour and the influence of the wine casks is immediately apparent on the nose with notes of melon, red apples, fine and spicy orange peel and dark chocolate. On the palate, a light peppery note emerges, paired with sweet vanilla, creamy milk chocolate and notes of red wine tannins and lingering peat smoke.
