Michter's Barrel Strength Kentucky Straight Rye: New limited releases

The popular rye whiskey is bottled as single barrel editions

The Louisville-based Michter's Distillery is continuing its international success. In addition to their bourbon, sour mash whiskey and American whiskey, rye whiskey has also established itself as a constant in Michter's portfolio. Two years ago, the distillery's last barrel strength rye whiskey was released, now it's that time again and a 2021 edition of Michter's Barrel Strength Kentucky Straight Rye was presented. The whiskey should be available in the USA and internationally from March.

"These barrels are at just the right point to highlight the beautiful nuances of a great rye whiskey. This release is a powerhouse," said Michter's Master of Maturation Andrea Wilson. A powerhouse not only in terms of taste, but also in terms of alcohol content: the barrel strength edition of Michter's Rye is bottled as a series of single barrel editions that offer an average of 110.3 proof / 55.1 % ABV.

Michter's is on the rise. In addition to the Shively Distillery, which opened in 2015 and the Ford Nelson Distillery in Louisville, which opened in early 2019, the company has also been operating a large farm in Springfield since 2017. Their own grain is grown there, which will be used in the two distilleries in the future.

In January 2021, Michter's was named number 1 among the top trending American whiskey brands in Drinks International's annual brand report.
