Limited Rock Oyster Sherry released

The smoky blended malt of Douglas Laing got a Sherry cask finish

A new Rock Oyster Edition has joined the portfolio of independent bottler Douglas Laing. The blended malt Rock Oyster Sherry has got a finish in Spanish Sherry casks and is the first edition of this label that has seen this kind of maturation. It was released without age statement like the classic Rock Oyster Blended Malt Whisky and the more alcoholic version Rock Oyster Cask Strength. There’s also an edition with age statement available: Rock Oyster 18 Year Old.

Among the blended malts of Douglas Laing the Rock Oyster series represents a peated one that was blended from malt whisky from the isles of Islay, Arran, Jura and Orkney. It shows a smoky and maritime character, but also offers notes of honey, fruits and pepper. Here in this Rock Oyster Sherry version Sherry aromas join smoke and co. what gives this malt whisky a distinctive new accent. All Rock Oyster whiskies are bottled uncolored and un-chillfiltered. Besides the Cask Strength with its 57.4% ABV all Rock Oysters have been released with 46.8 vol ABV.
