Lebanon Distillery: Groundbreaking ceremony for $130 million Kentucky distillery

Diageo invests heavily in bourbon and American whiskey

A new major project has been launched in Marion County, Kentucky: Diageo gave the go-ahead for the construction of the Lebanon Distillery with the obligatory groundbreaking ceremony. The address is "100 Bourbon Drive", suitable to point out the future designation of the distillery: The company's aim is to create a range of bourbon and American whiskey brands here.

The site is about 144 acres (58 hectares) and will house the 12,000 square- foot distillery (6,690 square meters) as well as 12 warehouses. In 2021, the Lebanon Distillery will start production what will mean 30 new full-time jobs- Of course, this is good news for the community and local and regional political representatives took part in the groundbreaking ceremony and grabbed a spade - but probably only for the official press photo.

In recent years, Diageo has invested more than $ 300 million in Kentucky and operates the Stirling-Weller distillery in Louisville as well as the Bulleit Distillery and a large visitor center in Shelbyville.
