Kirstie McCallum leaves Glen Moray and joins Halewood

As a master blender, she will work on whiskies such as Crabbie, The Pogues and Aber Falls

 

Halewood Artisanal Spirits has appointed Dr. Kirstie McCallum as their Master Blender. She will manage a wide range of whisky brands with the Scottish Crabbie Whisky, the Irish brands Gelston’s and The Pogues, the English Peaky Blinder and the Welsh Aber Falls Whisky. In addition, she will also work on new Halewood projects.

Having a PhD in analytical chemistry from the Glasgow Caledonian University and having been working more than 20 years in the spirits industry, Kirstie McCallum can draw on a wealth of knowledge and experience.

She had worked for the company Distell International and its brands Bunnahabhain, Deanston and Tobermory for a total of 12 years, the last three years of which as a senior blender. In autumn 2019, she switched to the Glen Turner Company and has been responsible for the Glen Moray Whisky as Head of Whisky Creation. For the parent company La Martiniquaise, she was also heading blends such as Cutty Sark, Label 5 and Sir Edward’s.
