Kilbeggan Black: the Irish distillery presents a peated version of the famous whiskey

The Kilbeggan with a touch of smoke will permanently join the range of the distillery

Kilbeggan Irish Whiskey is popular with fans of a soft and mild whiskey. Beam Suntory has now presented another permanent bottling for those who also like a hint of smoke in their whiskey: The Kilbeggan Black offers a slightly expanded range of flavours without sacrificing the familiar softness. In the first step it is available in Ireland, Canada, Global Travel Retail and Germany (e-commerce).

“We are very excited to announce the launch of Kilbeggan Black, our new premium expression. It’s the perfect drink to sit back, relax and unwind after a long day and it’s an exciting addition to the core range. For those who enjoy the Kilbeggan Traditional, Kilbeggan Black provides an elevated taste experience refined through the addition of peated malt for more character whilst still retaining the smoothness that we associate with Irish Whiskey,“ said Fabian Fischer, Global Marketing Manager – Irish Whiskey at Beam Suntory.

The Kilbeggan Black, like the standard Kilbeggan Traditional, is blended from grain whiskey and double distilled malt whiskey and is matured in ex-bourbon barrels. In contrast to the Traditional, however, a small amount of peated malt was used to flavour the new member of the Kilbeggan family, so that the familiar aromas of apples, pears, vanilla, toffee and grain are complemented by a slightly smoky note. The Kilbeggan Black is bottled without age statement with an alcohol content of 40% ABV.
