John Quinn elected vice chair of the Irish Whiskey Association

Tullamore D.E.W.'s global brand ambassador will become vice chair of IWA from January 2019

William Grant & Sons has announced that its global brand ambassador for Tullamore D.E.W., John Quinn, has been elected vice chair of the Irish Whiskey Association (IWA). Quinn, who joined the legendary Irish whiskey brand in 1974 and has been with Tullamore D.E.W. for 44 years, will take up his new role on 1 January 2019. The brand ambassador is delighted to represent William Grant & Sons and Tullamore D.E.W. in this new role. "This role is growing in importance and responsibility as we witness the tremendous growth in the Irish whiskey business worldwide".

But with this growth comes the responsibility to ensure that Irish whisky has a long-term and sustainable perspective and to protect it from those who are only interested in short-term profits. Chin Ru Foo, associate brand director for William Grant & Sons, is confident that Quinn is the right person for the job: "John knows the stories behind every label, behind every brand. The Irish whiskey category will certainly benefit from John playing an active role in the future direction of the industry."

The Irish Whiskey Association was founded in 2014 to represent the rapidly expanding Irish whiskey industry. It provides a forum for all operators to share expertise and cooperate in building the Irish whiskey category brand.
