Little Book is the first-ever product release from Freddie Noe, eighth generation distiller for Jim Beam, son of Beam Master Distiller Fred Noe and grandson of legendary Booker Noe. This annual limited series of unique and high quality blends is owed to Freddie's passion for blending and his curiosity for the limitless taste that can be achieved through the blending process. Little Book is named after Freddie's nickname in his childhood, which was given to him by his family because of the many qualities he shared with his grandfather Booker Noe.

Rye and corn whisk(e)y

For this year's bottling - Little Book Chapter 2: Noe Simple Task - Freddie opted for the balanced blend of a spicy Kentucky straight rye whiskey with the finer aromas of aged Canadian whisky, which he could admire as part of his development as a distiller of the Beam family in Alberta. "Noe Simple Task" consists of three different whiskies, including an 8 year old Kentucky straight rye whiskey (59.9% abv), a 13 year old Canadian rye whisky (55.95% abv) and a 40 year old Canadian whisky (68.9% abv) made from 100% corn. "The floral, fruity notes of Canadian whisky really fascinated me, as did the aging and production styles that are so different from what we do here in Kentucky. It was a step outside my comfort zone to bring these two worlds of whisk(e)y together, and I'm really proud of the unique blend I was able to achieve," Noe said.

Nomen est omen

As the name suggests, making the final blend for Little Book "Noe Simple Task" was a long journey that tested Noe's skills as a blender. He experimented with nearly 40 different blends and ultimately decided on the recipe for blend 29, which corresponded to his vision for this second bottling. Bottled at 59.4% abv (118.8 proof), the blend, which received a double gold medal at the New York World Wine and Spirits Competition 2018, features floral and fruity notes that are beautifully balanced with the spiciness of rye whiskies, resulting in a long-lasting, spicy finish with notes of caramel.

Only available in USA

The annual series started in 2017 with Little Book Chapter 1: "The Easy" - a blend consisting of a 4 year old Bourbon, a 13 year old Corn Whiskey, a 6 year old Malt Whiskey and a 6 year old Rye Whiskey. Chapter 2: "Noe Simple Task" will be available from September in limited quantities and only in the USA for a suggested retail price of almost 100 dollars for the 750 ml bottle.
