"The '45 Cask Offering" is now added on the website: the ex-bourbon barrels in which the first Raasay Single Malt Whisky was matured - a lightly peated spirit - are now available for filling. 45 of them to honour Bonnie Prince Charly who spent two days on Raasay during his odyssey following the defeat at Culloden.

Isle of Raasay Distillery co-founder Alasdair Day said: “The first 45 casks ever filled on Raasay, an island rooted in centuries of illicit distilling, hold a very special place in our distillery’s history. Rich in sweet vanilla and butterscotch flavours, with hints of smokiness from our lightly peated inaugural spirit, these Bourbon casks are available with your choice of heavily peated or unpeated Raasay spirit.”

The price of £4,000 includes the 190-liter cask, which will be stored for up to ten years at the distillery on Raasay, an overnight stay in the whisky hotel of the distillery, so that you can fill the casks yourself if you wish, and a bottle of the Inaugural Release, the first Raasay Single Malt Whisky.
