GlenAllachie opens new visitor center
Distillery tours are offered now
On the occasion of the Speyside Festival the Glenallachie Distillery, situated near Aberlour, opened its new visitor center. Distillery tours are offered since May 1, and the new shop presents not only the usual range of GlenAllachie Single Malts and MacNair's Blended Malts but also whiskys, which are only available locally. The Visitor Center is managed by Karen McWilliam, previously working for GlenDronach.
Visitors to the distillery can experience two different tours:
The Wee Allachie Tour will take you through the production rooms of the distillery. It takes one hour and includes the sampling of three drams. The price is £15 per person.
The Connoisseurs Tour gives visitors the opportunity not only to see the production area but also to visit a warehouse and participate in a guided tasting of five dram. The tour lasts two hours and costs £50 per person.
The Distillery Only bottlings include a 12-year-old Bourbon cask aged GlenAllachie and a 29-year-old from a hogshead. In addition, there is the possibility to handfill your own bottle of GlenAllachie whisky directly from a cask in the shop.
