Entrepreneur Pearse Lyons is dead

He died only a half year after opening the Pearse Lyons Distillery in the heart of Dublin

At the age of 73 entrepreneur Pearse Lyons, founder of the 2017 opened Irish distillery that wears his name, died in Kentucky. He suffered from complications that followed a heart surgery. Born in Ireland, he immigrated to the US in 1977 where he will be buried at St. Patrick’s Day.

The Pearse Lyons Distillery was built in the renovated St. James Church in The Liberties, historic heart of Dublin and had been opened by Pearse and his wife Deidre only in autumn 2017 (we reported here about the distillery project). It was already the second distillery the couple had built: Their Lexington Brewing and Distillery Company is part of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.

But most famous and of international importance was Pearse Lyons’ company Alltech, that developed agricultural products and animal nutrition with yeast-fermentation, enzymes and seaweed. Today the company is one of the world’s leading producers concerning animal nutrition and health.
