Cotswolds PX Single Cask - a cask strength release of the English distillery

For four years, this Cotswolds Single Malt Whisky was matured in a Pedro Ximenez Sherry Butt

With a PX Sherry Single Cask release the English Cotswolds Distillery presents a highlight of their young whisky stock. Limited to 672 bottles is this whisky that has been released only for the German Market. It was bottled at 59.7% ABV cask strength without coloring or chill filtration.

Two years ago, the English Cotswolds Distillery launched their first Cotswolds Single Malt Whisky. Since then her standard product, a small batch whisky, is constantly available and has been internationally awarded. It is batched from ex-bourbon casks and STR red wine casks, bottled at 46% ABV. The second Cotswolds release for the global market is the Cotswolds Founder's Choice, batched only from STR red wine barrels and dedicated to the late whisky expert Jim Swan. He once was a consulter of Daniel Szor, founder of the distillery, and helped to develop the Cotswolds whisky. It was Jim Swan who invented the "Shave, Toast and Re-charr" technique that many distilleries use today for their wine casks.

So now there’s a third single malt whisky of Cotswolds Distillery on the market (besides some that were only available at the distillery) – but only in Germany. And for the first time it’s a single cask bottling. With the maturation exclusively in PX sherry casks made from American oak we are introduced to a whisky which differs significantly from the style of the previously available Cotswolds whiskies.
