Bowmore partners with Aston Martin
Tradition and modern design to be united
Collaborations with designers, musicians and other artists are well-known in the whisky scene. Highland Park collaborated with a tattoo artist for the Twisted Tattoo, when Macallan releases noble decanter they are crafted by Lalique, and Glenmorangie has partnered with a manufacturer to create surfboards using old whisky casks. Now, Beam Suntory has announced that long-term cooperation with Aston Martin Lagonda has been agreed for the whisky label Bowmore.
The luxury car brand Aston Martin stands for aesthetically and technically high-quality products and its design team combines innovation with tradition. There are strong parallels to Bowmore, explains Beam Suntory in its latest press release - the best precondition for a successful collaboration. What exactly this collaboration will look like and what we can expect has not been revealed in detail. However, cooperation with a luxury brand does probably not promise generally affordable products.
Andy Palmer, CEO of Aston Martin Lagonda, says, “This series of limited-edition bottlings are going to be very special collectors’ items for the whisky connoisseur and Aston Martin enthusiast. As brands we have a lot in common. We both focus on indulging our customers with exquisitely-designed, beautifully-crafted products, often producing limited edition specials that celebrate our heritage.”
It's a well-known fact that driving a car and drinking whisky is not compatible, so Beam Suntory underlines that the Drink Smart campaign will be part of the partnership's activities to raise awareness about responsible use of alcohol.
