Bladnoch is back and expands its portfolio
A 10 Year Old Bladnoch Single Malt Whisky to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Lowland distillery
The stills of Bladnoch hadn’t been heated for six years when David Prior took over the distillery in July 2015. Before production started again in 2017 the Australian entrepreneur invested about 6.5 mio Euro in refurbishment and modernization of Scotland’s most Southern distillery. Although the new make of his own production has to mature for some more time before it becomes whisky Prior has already lunched some bottlings: Together with the distillery he also bought a little stock of casks from the previous owner’s production, Raymond and Colin Armstrong, and even some casks from the era before 1993.
Samsara, Adela, Talia, Pure Scot available
The three Single Malts Samsara (8 yo, matured in ex-Bourbon barrels and Californian red wine casks), Adela (15 yo, matured in ex-Oloroso sherry casks) and Talia (depending on the batch 25 or 27 yo, matured in three different types of wood and finished differently) are available in several whisky shops and so is the premium blend Bladnoch Pure Scot. This was matured for 8 years and is batched with a high amount of malt whisky. Whiskys from the Speyside, the Highlands and Islay are married for the Pure Scot and of course some Bladnoch Whisky as well.
Bladnoch 10 Year Old released
Last year a ten year old Bladnoch Single Malt Whisky war launched on the occasion of an anniversary: Bladnoch was founded in 1817 so it was 200 years old in 2017. This Bladnoch 10 yo was fully matured in ex-Bourbon barrels and bottled at 46.7 % ABV without chill Filtration. After beeing releases in the UK it meanwhile is distributed in other European countries as well.
