Bimber Distillery presents first Founder's Series Single Malt Whisky
A three-year-old ex-bourbon single cask bottling - exclusively for Founder's Club members
The young English Bimber Distillery is located in West London and has been producing since 2016. We reported here about the launch of the first Bimber Single Malt Whisky in September 2019. Another small batch release has already followed.
In the Founder's Series, from 2019 to 2022 special single malts will be released as single cask bottlings, each of them limited to 200 bottles. It is barrel number 16 that Master Distiller Darius Plazewski selected for the first Founder's bottling that’s now on display.
It is an ex-Bourbon cask, which was bottled at cask strength of 57.8% ABV, uncolored and un-chill filtered. However, there is only one catch: This whisky is reserved exclusively for the members of the Founder's Club of the Bimber Distillery. But for £395 you can become a member and support the distillery. For this you receive a Founder's Club bottling every year from 2019 to 2012 and several other benefits.
Tasting Notes for the Bimber Single Malt Whisky #16
Nose: Crisp, clean and fruity. Cider apples, turnovers and crumble sit with apricot yoghurt and candied orange peels whilst milk chocolate is livened by bees honey sweetness and a prickle of peppery spice.
Taste: Oily, fulsome and impactful – bright apples and pear juices mingle with freshly picked apricots, split vanilla pods and charred oak. Baked vanilla buns and crème patisserie sit with nutmeg and pepper spiced honey.
Finish: Lingering wood spices marry perfectly with fading orchard fruits, honey and dusty sweet pastries.
