Berkshire Mountain Distillers to launch whiskey in partnership with craft beer breweries

Berkshire Mountain Distillers (BMD), based in Sheffield, Massachusetts, has announced the launch of three whiskeys for February 2021. These are the first bottlings in a series created in collaboration with twelve regional craft brewers. The whiskeys will be available in the BMD room and in a few selected shops and restaurants, but they will probably not make it to Europe. Nevertheless, a look at the regional American craft whiskey scene might be interesting for some whiskey fan.

The whiskeys will now be released in the order in which they were distilled, starting with three whiskeys from breweries based in Sheffield, the hometown of Berkshire Mountain Distillers. Those beers used were UFO White Ale from Mass. Bay Brewing Co., Spencer Brewery's Trappist Ale and Big Elm Brewing's 413 Farmhouse Ale. In the course of the year, further bottlings will follow as part of the Craft Brewers Whiskey Project, including whiskey from beers from the craft breweries Samuel Adams, Berkshire Brewing Company, Jack's Abby Craft Lagers, Brewery Ommegang, Captain Lawrence Brewing, Smuttynose Brewing, Long Trail Brewing Company, Two Roads Brewing and Chatham Brewing.Project of the BMD started in 2015 with the of

Berkshire Mountain Distillers was founded in 2007 by Chris Weld and besides whiskey they also produce other spirits like rum, vodka and gin. Many of the products have already won high awards in international spirits competitions.
