Benriach Authenticus 30 YO launched
The exclusive single malt is Benriach’s oldest peated whisky release
The Benriach Authenticus 30 Year Old has been on market for a short while already and yesterday the official press release has been published. With this Authenticus the Benriach Distillery presents the successor of its Authenticus 25 Year Old that also was produced from peated malt. For Benriach and most other Speyside distilleries its quite unusual to release peated whisky but the name Authenticus will point out that in former times it was a usual style here in this region as well.
In the late 1970s Benriach has re-started to produce peated whisky in small amounts. The peat was cut in the northeast of Scotland. According to Charles McLean Benriach Distillery was the first one in the Speyside to release a peated single malt after Ward War 2 when it presented the Benriach Curiositas 10 Year Old in 2004.
